What to Expect in an Adult Budo Class
- Warm-Up & Stretching: Each class starts with light cardio and stretching to get your body ready.
- Ukemi (Falls & Rolls): Learning how to fall safely is an important part of our training. We’ll teach you techniques to roll and fall safely, which are important skills both for martial arts and everyday life.
- Fundamental Techniques: You’ll practice basic moves, like strikes, kicks, blocks, and footwork. These movements form the foundation of the art.
- Partner Drills & Self-Defense: We’ll also work with partners to practice techniques like escaping from grabs or responding to strikes. These partner drills give you the chance to refine your skills in real-time scenarios.
- Weapons Training: From time to time, we introduce basic weapons like the sword or staff. This training helps you learn distance, timing, and focus.
- Cool Down & Reflection: We end with a short cool-down and some moments of reflection, helping you internalize the day’s training.
Adult martial arts classes are typically 60 minutes long, with options for multiple classes per week to fit your schedule.
